Who We Are
DEIBC is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to creating a culture of belonging for all. We are parents, students, educators, administrators, and community members, all with various cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds, unique perspectives, experiences, and a wide range of professional and educational career paths. We, parents and community members in particular, recognize that we are a voice, not only for our own children but for all children.
As Cresskill students grow they will become the next generation of global citizens: they need the skills and mindset to think globally. We believe the best way to achieve this is by leveraging and celebrating the diversity of our entire community. We champion diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for all students, teachers, administrators, staff, for parents and families, as well as for the broader Cresskill community.
What We Do
We provide resources to our schools in order to promote anti-bias education. We work to recognize and actively reduce the educational disparities present in our public school system. We offer information and training for teachers, students and parents. We publish racial equity resources which support positive change through knowledge and better understanding. We champion diversity in hiring practices for the district. We advocate for fairness, for consideration and inclusion, so that each student feels heard, valued and seen. We offer grounded support to our school district’s leadership as we recognize that they are likewise working toward building a more just and equitable school community.
